United Way's Campaign Raises Over $1.7 Million for Lebanon County

Thank you to all the individuals and organizations who donated to the 2018-2019 Campaign, "United, We Build Our Future."

On Thursday, January 31. 2019, at the clubhouse at Alden Place, United Way of Lebanon County held our annual Campaign Celebration where the Campaign Chair, Kristen Watts of Fulton Bank, announced that a total of $1,701,657 was raised during the 2018-2019 campaign.

The evening began with a warm welcome from the event’s emcee, Ray Maillet of Lebanon Broadcast Company. Maillet thanked the evening’s event sponsors for their support: Fulton Bank, Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, and TempForce. Ray and Kristen then presented the following companies with awards for various outstanding participation percentages, employee engagement, and community support: Domino’s Pizza, HACC Lebanon Campus, Jonestown Bank and Trust, and PA Precision Cast and Parts. In addition, Kristen extended a special award to Ron Stohler as this year’s campaign cabinet MVP for his dedication to United Way and hard work to help ensure the success of the campaign.

Next on the agenda was the much-anticipated announcement of the incentive prize winners. The prize drawing was held at the United Way office earlier in the month. Winners were contacted and encouraged to attend to find out which prize they won. The lucky grand prize winner in attendance with his son, Zachary, was Brian Garl from Butler BlueScope. Brian will receive a three-year lease on his choice of a 2018 Honda Civic, Chevrolet Sonic, or Mazda 3 from Ebersole, Klick Lewis, and Ladd Hanford. Emcee Maillet also highlighted the sponsors of the other incentive prizes: Giant Foods, who provided three $500 gift cards; Lebanon Valley Family YMCA, who sponsored a one-year family pass to the YMCA; Domino’s Pizza, who donated a pizza a week for an entire year; Hershey Entertainment and Resorts, who contributed a family four pack of season passes including meal and drink plans; Martin Appliance, who donated a Weber E310 Grille; and Boscov’s, Fulton Bank, and White’s Harley Davidson, who partnered to provide a $7,500 “choice prize.”

Kristen Watts then took a moment to thank the 2018-2019 campaign cabinet for all of their hard work and invited those in attendance to join her on the stage. In keeping with the campaign theme, “United, We Build Our Future,” they all were wearing construction yellow t-shirts and hard hats, which revealed the campaign total on the backs. The celebration dinner concluded with remarks from Rene Numer of APR Supply, who is ending her term as United Way of Lebanon County’s board president.
