1st Grade Success Program

The 1st Grade Success Program, established in 2017, focuses on achievement and educational well-being for all 1st graders across Lebanon County.

This county-wide project brings together schools, organizations, corporate partners, and families to collectively contribute to student success. Every first grader in Lebanon County (more than 1700 children!) receives a Student Success Kit during the first week of school.

Each Student Success Kit contains school supplies, a book, this resource guide, and a special t-shirt for each child! Children are encouraged to wear the shirt proudly and families are encouraged to use it as a way to talk with their children about working toward the important goal of high school graduation. We hope that being able to wear a Class of 2030 t-shirt will empower our local children to prioritize education and make them feel a part of something bigger.

Family involvement is vital in creating school success for every child at every age. Our hope through this program is that the tools and resources provided will allow families and children to dive into learning together. By encouraging children to be inquisitive about the world and helping them connect classroom lessons to everyday life, families can show children the importance of education.

Along with our corporate partners, United Way of Lebanon County seeks to be an ongoing supporter of local education.
