LIVE UNITED

BE ONE IN A 1,000!  Last year almost 1,000 people of all ages, from all walks of life, gave their time and their hearts to over 65 different agencies and organizations during the United Way of Lebanon County’s annual Day of Caring.  If you, your co-workers, friends or family were part of this great effort, you know what a fun and meaningful experience it was.  If you weren’t we hope you’ll join us this year.

The Day of Caring is an opportunity for people to give a Saturday morning to help local non-profit organizations, and get to know more about the needs of their neighbors and the many human service agencies that are working to meet those needs in Lebanon County.  Every year we have more children and young adults involved.  This is a great service project for youth groups.   One project that is great for groups with small children is our Deliver A Smile project.  Volunteers will deliver cards made by local children to residents of various senior facilities, assisted living facilities and medical facilities.

Join us for this year’s Day of Caring on Saturday, April 24, 2010 and promote this opportunity to your company, school, organization, family and friends.  We will kick-off the day by meeting at the Lebanon High School Cafeteria for breakfast between 7:30 and 9:00 a.m.  There your team can rendezvous, pick-up their T-shirts, (every volunteer is given a LIVE UNITED T-shirt as a thank-you and asked to wear it that day while they are “on the job”), enjoy a continental breakfast and get any final instructions on their job assignment.  By 9:00 a.m. everyone should be off to work, finishing on their own around noon.

Participating is easy.  Here’s how:

  • Act as a team leader within your business or organization.  Publicize the event internally to have people sign-up.

  • Put together a team of your family & friends.

  • Sign up on your own as an individual.

  • Attached is a list of projects and the number of people needed for each.  Have your participants choose their top three choices.  (Projects are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis.  We’ll try hard to match your volunteers with their first choices, although we cannot guarantee them. )

  • Make sure that each volunteer lists his or her T-shirt size.

Mail, email or fax your Volunteer Registration with your list of volunteers, T-shirt sizes and preferred projects to the United Way office NO LATER THAN April 14, 2010.  ***Due to the need of time to notify the agencies and confirm assignments we will not be able to accept registrations after this date.

  • You will be notified by mail of your team assignments by April 23, 2010.  If you do not receive a confirmation letter by April 23rd, please visit www.unitedwaylebco.org to verify your assignment.

  • Share information about the assignments, the breakfast and any special instructions or directions to sites with your team.  Please remember, you are our only contact with the people you register.

We hope you will join us on this day to help show how much the people of Lebanon County care.

If you would like to participate - you must register in advance and you must fill out the Registration Form.
